What: Interesting Skies

Where: Laughlin, Nevada

From the time I first picked up a camera, I have been photographing the sky. Over the years, I've catalogued hundreds of landscapes and most of them included interesting cloud formations.

For the past few years, I have been living around the Bullhead City, Arizona area and have been enthralled with the skies over it, Fort Mohave, and the Kingman, Arizona areas, which are all just across the Colorado River from Laughlin, Nevada.

A few years ago, I took a photo of a "Halo", which is when a rainbow forms around the sun, in Las Vegas, Nevada but it was much smaller than this one.

Today's photo captures one of the largest and most beautiful Halos I've ever seen, plus, as usual, the lines and other cloud elements in the sky form an amazing scene over what is called the Dead Mountains Wilderness, to the southwest of Laughlin, Nevada.
